How the rankings work:

The rankings system uses a simple points system. If you look at the tables above, you will see several columns, here is their meaning:

WIN: Number of those matches which were won
DRAW: Number of those matches which were drawn
LOSE: Number of those matches which were lost
POINTS: A subtotal column of awarded points
BONUS: Any bonus points awarded
TOTAL PTS: Grand total score

For the sake of the rankings, only the best two matches per fighter at each Open Trials event will be taken into account. Some competitors occasionally get three matches on the same day, but everybody is guaranteed two, so only the two bouts (in the case of a competitor who does fight three times) with the best result are scored for the sake of fairness.

Here is how the matches are scored:

WIN: 3 points
DRAW: 2 points
LOSS: 1 point

In addition to this, it is possible to score a bonus point by winning your bout in less than sixty seconds (one minute). These bonus points are taken into account before calculating each competitors grand total.

For selection of competitors for the National Championship, in cases where two or more competitors have the same grand total score then selection will be made by discerning which competitor has the greatest number of wins, and then by the competitor with the quickest wins.
