Robbie Olivier (Himself a Fireman) demonstrates how to perform a Fireman's lift takedown in MMA competition.

Step 1: From the tie-up.
Robbie works this takedown from the clinch or tie-up.
Step 2: Get Inside Control
Robbie gains inside control of the clinch
Step 3: Shoot
Robbie retains control of August's left arm, shoots in and wraps up August's left leg.
Step 4: Shoot UP
With August's weight balanced over his shoulders, Robbie shoots up, rather than across or down.
Step 5: Switch the weight
Robbie switches the weight over to his right by dipping his right shoulder and pulling down on August's arm.
Step 6: Let gravity do it's thing
Robbie lets go of August's legs and heaves him over his shoulder. He follows August's decent and lands in side mount.
