Aleksander Emelianenko: Destination UFC

In a recent interview, Aleksander Emelianenko spoke of his plans to move to the UFC. Emelianenko disclosed that his management are currently in negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and are working on getting him a multi-fight contract that could see him fighting for the UFC Heavyweight title soon. Aleksander said that he wants to fight the best the UFC has to offer. On facing the current UFC Heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia, the Russian said: “Tim is a good fighter, but... let's just say that if I get the opportunity to fight him, I will take his title away with pleasure.” Aleksander inferred that he wanted to step out of his brother, Pride Heavyweight Champion, Fedor Emelianenko's shadow in Pride and make a name for himself. Aleksander said that both he and Fedor’s goal is to proudly carry on the family name for years to come. Aleksander said that wants to win the UFC Heavyweight Title and then fight for many years to come. He also predicts that Fedor will remain undefeated until he retires, by that time their little brother Ivan Emelianenko, who the pair are personally training in Grappling, Sambo and Boxing, will be ready to take over. |
