TKO file lawsuit against Ivan Menjivar

TKO Major League MMA have initiated legal procedures against Ivan Menjivar for breach of contract.

Ivan Menjivar pulled out of TKO 27: Reincarnation event, where he was supposed to fight Mark Hominick as the main event, with short notice. Menjivar was supposed to fight and was at the press conference, made a photo shooting for the event's poster and took part to the video shooting for the event video presentation.

This lawsuit, opposing TKO Major League MMA and Ivan Menjivar, is totally separate from the management division of the company.

"I am totally objective and I'm not in conflict of interest", declared Stephane Patry, TKO Major League MMA president and Ivan Menjivar manager. "I separate my promoter functions and my managing functions. As a proof, TKO Major League MMA is pursuing Ivan Menjivar. The management office is a totally different thing. We are waiting to know the issue for this lawsuit and I'm gonna think about what we'll do for the management after."

Ivan Menjivar was supposed to fight Bart Palaszewski at the November 2nd IFL event as the member of Team Dragons, but there is possibility this fight will be cancelled.

"In theory, I'm still Ivan Menjivar's manager because we're under contract. There's a section at the contract stipulating that the manager can oppose to the signature of contracts. Considering there is a lawsuit against Menjivar, he's not allowed to sign contracts for the moment. Kurt Otto, the IFL president, was aware of that fact, but if the IFL absolutely want Ivan Menjivar for their events, they still can acquire the rights of his contract. But Menjivar possibly won't be in position to fight on November 2nd."
