Cage Rage Grows 150% in Five Months
Date submitted: 13 October 2006
Author: Cage Rage
It’s hard to believe that only six months ago Cage Rage was selling out Wembley Conference Centre to a crowd of 2800. Here we are, three events later, two sell out Wembley Arena shows under our belt and 150% growth in live audience figures.

So to end on a spectacular year, it can now be officially released that Cage Rage 19: Fearless will be held on 9th December at the prestigious Earl’s Court in south west London.

“For the last two Wembley shows we’ve pulled in some big names, matched some great fights and had an excellent advertising and marketing campaign” said Andy Geer when asked what he thinks the growth of the event is down to. “We just hope that we continue to put on the best shows for true MMA fans as well as encouraging a new audience to help the sport grow.”

And there is no doubt that the profile is growing. Not only in audience terms but across national media. While IPC continue to be media partners with Cage Rage, over the last six months Cage Rage has had coverage on ITN, BBC, LBC, Sky One, Talk Sport, The Independent, The People, The Daily Star, Front Magazine as well as continuing to work with the MMA press.

So can the Cage Rage Championships keep up the good work? You bet your life! There are whispers on the wind as to the card for 9th Dec but I can confirm the following fights now:

·         We have an Irish V Brazil stand off between Arni Isaksson and Jean Silva
·         The Australian ‘King of Rock and Rumble’, Elvis Sinsonic, will go toe to toe with The Beast, Mark Epstein
·         Robert "Buzz" Berry will go against UFC Vet Wesley "Cabbage" Correira.
·         As promised Zelg Galesic will get a chance at the middleweight title against Mark Weir in the penultimate fight of the night.
·         Now the headline fight… Let’s just say it’s going to be HEAVY! Seriously big… and involves our British Heavy Weight people’s champion Rob Broughton. OK, Eric "Butterbean" Esch will be in the cage against The Bear Broughton.

“As Cage Rage grows so does our reputation within MMA as a top world player” said matchmaker Dave O’Donnell. “And we’ll keep pushing for the big names to put the British fighters out there at the next level and give the MMA fans the best shows in the UK”.
