2006/2007 International Fight League Internship Program

Overview:

The International Fight League , the world's first team-based professional mixed martial arts organization, is offering two internship sessions in its New York City headquarters for Fall 2006 and Winter/Spring 2007. These programs will provide students with an opportunity to get real-world experience in a fast-paced environment, as they work alongside seasoned marketing and public relations professionals on various exciting projects. As a way to provide training to multi-task and develop their communication skills, interns will work on critical tasks such as researching and writing press releases, creating and updating media lists, assisting with event publicity, conducting media outreach, attending media events such as press conferences and in-studio client appearances, executing marketing initiatives and taking part in creative brainstorm sessions.

Sessions:

Fall internships are for approximately 12 weeks each, beginning on or around September 7 through early December.

Winter/Spring internships are for approximately 14 to 16 weeks each, beginning around mid-January through early May. Resumes and cover letters must be received by November 30.

Summer internships are for approximately 12 to 14 weeks each, beginning around mid-May through mid-August. Resumes and cover letters must be received by March 25.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates are juniors or seniors working towards their degree in marketing, communications or public relations, with some interest or background in sports and lifestyle.

Candidates will be required to interview with the International Fight League internship director via phone and/or in person. A minimum of three full eight-hour days is required each week throughout the course of the internship.
