Cage Warriors Number 1 Contender Lightweight Tournament Participants Announced

Warrior Promotions are proud to announce the eight Lightweight Tournament participants for their Cage Warriors: Showdown 2 event at the Octagon Centre, Sheffield on Sunday 19th November. The winner of this tournament will face the current Cage Warriors Lightweight World Champion Alexandre "Xandinho" Izidro in early 2007 at CW Showdown 3.

This 1 night tournament sees 8 men from 3 different continents battling it out inside the 32ft CWFC octagonal cage for the right to challenge for the Title.

This tournament was originally designed to settle the recent debate over who the best Lightweight fighter in the UK really is. However with several top UK lightweights being unable to join the 3 that originally stepped-up, the Warrior Promotions team looked further afield and added several top European imports, an American and a Japanese warrior from GCM to the line-up.

This card will also feature a feature a CWFC World Title bout in another weight class which will be announced soon, as Cage Warriors attempt to top their previous Showdown event which was held on September 16th.

This show will also feature an array of domestic B Class pro bouts and Cage Kickboxing bouts featuring local Sheffield fighters

Tournament Details

• 1st and 2nd Round Fights will take place over 2x5 minute rounds (with 1 overtime round in case of a draw)

• The Final will be held over 3x5 minute rounds (with 1 overtime round in case of a draw)
