Date submitted: 21 September 2006
Author: Never Submit
Imperia Entertainment President James Hergott announced today the audition locations for the MMA movie "Never Submit" talent search. The cross-country talent search will seek to find the action stars of the next generation. Those selected will get an opportunity to be featured in "Never Submit."
A future release will detail the dates and times of the auditions as well as criteria. Please do not contact the individual locations for information. All audition inquiries should be directed to Cindy Ortiz via e-mail here .
If you have a dojo or suitable location for participating in the auditions, please contact Cindy as well.
The following are the list of locations for the search:
Home of UFC Light-heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell and John Hackleman, one of the most accomplished combat fighting trainers on the West Coast located in the city of San Luis Obispo, California.
Home of "The Ultimate Fighter" trainer (seasons 1, 2 and 4), MarcLaimon as well as a multitude of professional fighters including Jason "Mayhem" Miller, Jay Hieron, Kevin Randleman, "The Ultimate Fighter" season 3 middleweight winner Kendall Grove, and "The Ultimate Fighter" season 2 welterweight winner Joe "Daddy" Stevenson.
"Never Submit" is a movie which portrays the thrill of victory and agony of defeat within the sport. The story is set in a tournament setting similar to the movie "Bloodsport" but rather than exploiting the sport as underground no-holds-barred fighting, it seeks to portray the sport in a realistic and positive light.
The movie will be an inspirational tale similar to "Rocky." Unlike "Rocky," the lead character is an educated young man, rather than a beaten-down punch-drunk fighter. Director James Hergott comments: "MMA is a very intellectual sport. A physical chess match. I want to portray the sport and its fighters as intelligent rather than dumb brawlers, as is often done in other movies."
