8 Man Lightweight Tournament Announced For CW Showdown 2

Warrior Promotions are proud to announce that they have booked another date in 2006 for the Sheffield based Cage Warriors "Showdown" event on Sunday 19th November at the Octagon Centre, Sheffield.
This show will hopefully build on the first "Showdown" event on September 16th, which features a Lightweight Title bout between current Champion Alexandre "Xandinho" Izidro and Franco "Ortega" De Leonardis as well as several other top European MMA bouts. The Warrior Promotions/Cage Warrior team are keen to follow up this Title fight with more lightweight action and as a result have decided that the highlight of the November 19th show will be a 1 night, 8 man, number 1 contender tournament, with the winner getting a Title shot at either Izidro or de Leonardis in early 2007. Cage Warriors hopes to include some of the UK's best Lightweights in this event along with several European stars. And with recent debate asking who the best Lightweight fighter in the UK is, the CW team feel this is the ideal time for the top UK Lightweights to step-up and take the challenge. Will the first British CW Lightweight contender for some time emerge from this tournament or will another European fighter get the opportunity to challenge for Title glory in 2007 by winning this tournament at CW Showdown 2?
