Court Rule Against Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye

The long running legal battle between Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye’s Seiya Kawamata and Nippon TV has come to a conclusion. Seiya Kawamata is the former head of the production company responsible for the ill fated Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2003: Inoki Festival event, which fell flat on it’s face when it failed to deliver either the card or the viewing figures expected. Kawamata’s K-Confidence Productions company was in a multi-million dollar contract with the television company. The contract was to cover three mega-events but after the disastrous showing of the first, which limped in to last place in the New Years Eve MMA event viewing figures race, Nippon TV saw fit to cancel the contract. In serious financial dire straights Kawamata levelled a lawsuit against Nippon Network Television. A case that not many thought he could not loose because it was Nippon Network Television who broke the contract. However, The Tokyo District Court ruled yesterday that due to the massive failure of Inoki Bom By Ye 2003, Nippon Network Television were within their rights to cancel their contract with K-Confidence. Seiya Kawamata’s whereabouts is currently unknown. |
