Highly touted prospect Tyson Griffin, who already holds TKO wins over Duane "Bang" Ludwig and Urijah Faber, will test his skills in the Octagon for the first time on September 23rd, when he faces British newcomer Dave Lee in a lightweight contest.
“It is an honor to compete in the UFC, said Griffin. “It validates all hard work and all the hours in the gym. The UFC provides an opportunity to compete against the best level of competition.”
A native of Sacramento, California, the 22-year-old Griffin is seen by many as the next big thing in mixed martial arts. But to move closer to the top, he has to get by 28-year-old Londoner, Lee, who is a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a scrappy competitor who is a tough out for anyone in the game.
Also added to the UFC 63 card, which will be held at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California is an intriguing heavyweight clash between UFC contender Gabriel Gonzaga and Mario "Sukata" Neto]]], a rugged veteran who will fight in the Octagon for the first time.
Tickets for UFC 63, which features the welterweight title bout between Matt Hughes and BJ Penn, are available now.
