MMA Coach Kevin O’Hagan Awarded 7th Dan in Combat Jiu-Jitsu

One of the UK's top MMA coaches, Kevin O'Hagan, has been awarded his 7th Dan Full Masters Grade in Combat Jiu-Jitsu.
The grading has been awarded by both the British Combat Association and The Self Defence Federation, and is the culmination of over 34 years of training, competing and teaching martial arts.
Kevin O'Hagan is probably best-known in the UK martial arts scene for his best-selling series of books on realistic defence, which are very much in the vein of like-minded authors such as Geoff Thompson, as well as for his regular classes, seminars and undying dedication to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
Never one to shy away from a challenge and always keen to test his own skills and abilities, Kevin has competed at numerous MMA competitions over the years – despite being considerably older than the majority of his opponents.
He has even tested himself at the highest level by competing in full Professional MMA rules in front of 2,000 spectators at Ultimate Combat 11: Wrath of the Beast in 2004 – which resulted in a round one victory by rear naked choke.
Kevin also coaches an MMA team which competes all over the UK at Amateur, Semi-Pro and Professional level. One of his notable past team members was James "The Colossus" Thompson, with whom he coached throughout his early career and also accompanied to Japan for his first-ever Pride appearance.
