According to a recent interview, Scott Smith will file an official appeal to the California State Athletic Commission contesting the result of his loss to David Terrell at UFC 59: Reality Check.

Allegedly Smith contests that the referee, Marco Lopez, made an incorrect call during the action that directly lead to his first round submission loss.

The UFC will supply the necessary video and audio evidence to help the CSAC to come to their conclusion.

If upheld, the result of the bout will be declared a no contest.
