Three Fights of the Night at TUF 9 Finale

All three main card fights that weren't finals for The Ultimate Fighter Season 9 Finale competition were awarded the Fight of the Night honors following the live season finale Saturday at the Palms in Las Vegas.
The six competitors in the three bouts, Diego Sanchez - Clay Guida, Chris Lytle - Kevin Burns and Joe Stevenson - Nate Diaz, each received a $25,000 bonus for their performances.
Sanchez dominated Guida in the first round and the two continued at a furious pace - as many have come to expect from the two fighters - through all three rounds. Guida demonstrated a great chin and his never-say-die attitude was once again prominent in this fight.
"Are you not entertained?" Sanchez asked the crowd after the fight.
The main event was entertaining enough that commentator Joe Rogan went back on his word to Lytle that his fight against Burns was the Fight of the Night and instead passed the compliment over to Sanchez.
Lytle may no longer be a contender for the welterweight crown but the firefighter has found himself a niche as a fighter that competes for his fans.
Not afraid to slug it out with his opponents, Saturday's fight was Lytle's fourth Fight of the Night award in his last six fights.
"That's exactly why I wanted this fight," Lytle said. "I knew that's how he would fight. He was going to try and take me out, and that's what I want."
The third Fight of the Night was the television opener which saw Stevenson snap a two-fight losing streak by outwrestling the lanky Diaz to secure the unanimous nod.
In the other two awards, Tomasz Drwal won Knockout of the Night for his knee against Mike Ciesnolevicz, and Jason Dent won Submission of the Night for his anaconda choke over fellow US member Cameron Dollar.
