UFC 95 Bonuses Released

The bonus payments for UFC 95 have been announced.
The main event fight between Joe Stevenson and Diego Sanchez was named Fight of the Night. Both fighters will be $40,000 richer as a result. After three rounds of stand up, Sanchez was awarded a unanimous decision victory in his debut at lightweight.
Paulo Thiago picked up the Knockout of the Night bonus after his stunning upset win over Josh Koscheck. “Kos” had been setting the pace and looked sure to be awarded a clear decision victory until Thiago caught him with a perfect right uppercut. He followed it up with a solid left hook and the fight was over.
The bonus for Submission of the Night went to Demian Maia. Maia came to the UFC with superb jiu jitsu credentials. The way his fight with Chael Sonnen ended suggests the hype was justified. The triangle choke was achieved after a stunning transition during the takedown. |
