Peter Irving Faces Tough Test at Strike and Submit 9

Strike and Submit 9 will take place at the The Lancastrian Suite in Gateshead on Sunday 8th February.
The promotion has built its reputation by putting together card featuring star names supported by bouts that provide a showcase for up and coming talent.
The main event sees local hero Peter Irving take on Igor Araujo. Irving is the reigning Strike and Submit Welterweight champion. The Knuckledraggers fighter has looked impressive when defending his belt against Daniel Weichel, Reza Madadi and Lee Doski.
In Araujo, Irving will be up against a formidable jiu jitsu specialist. Igor Araujo will be keen to make amends for his last visit to the UK, when he was destroyed in just over a minute by Jim Wallhead at M-1 Challenge UK. Peter Irving has long been tipped as a star of the future and an impressive performance against Araujo will push him closer to a big league contract.
The always enthusiastic Gateshead crowd will also get the chance to see the explosive Muay Thai skills of James Doolan.
Featherweight Doolan, of the renowned Dinky Ninjas team, is regarded as one of the best strikers in UK MMA and last fought at Greatest Common Multiple: Cage Force 6 in Tokyo, Japan. |
