Cyborg Aims for Strikeforce Belt

Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos is set to return to action with Strikeforce in March.
The fearsome Brazilian has not fought since injuring his elbow in his fight against Siyar Bahadurzada at World Victory Road: Sengoku 5 Middleweight Grand Prix. Now, Cyborg is eager to get back into the cage.
He told tatame.com:
"I’m now leaving the physiotherapy, the recovery is great. I'm not abusing, but maybe I’ll fight at the end of March. Rudimar Fedrigo (Chute Boxe leader) is confirming my debut at Strikeforce to the end of March.”
"I was going to fight at the end of the year (2008), but I had the injury. I hope I can present myself well, make a good fight and maybe fight for the belt. The important thing is to make a good debut and mark territory.”
Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos has a reputation as one of the most exciting fighters in MMA. His war with Melvin Manhoef at Cage Rage 15: Adrenalin Rush is considered to be one of the all time great MMA fights. In recent times, he has been overshadowed by the exploits of his wife Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos; one of the stars of the ill fated EliteXC promotion. |
