One of Holland’s hottest promotions, It’s Showtime, has announced that it will now be working hand in hand with K-1.
Coming hot on the heels of Bushido-Europe’s HUGE inaugural Super-Show and Cage Rage’s well publicised partnership with Pride FC, this is yet another exciting development for European Mixed Martial Arts. It not only shows acknowledgement from the world’s top Martial Arts events that Europe is an emerging MMA super-power but it will also mean that yet more stellar names from the world of K-1 and MMA are headed for Europe soon.
K-1 (Short for Karate, Kickboxing, Kung Fu – In One) produce the world’s leading ‘stand-up’ Martial Arts events. However they are also blazing a trail through the Mixed Martial Arts circuit with MMA events like Heroes and Dynamite while supporting shows such as Hawaii’s Rumble on the Rock.
It’s Showtime’s promoter, Simon Rutz, announced that the event’s next show will be held in Nottingham England, on March 5th. The show will feature It’s Showtime’s Golden Boy Melvin Manhoef plus unconfirmed K-1 bouts including Alexey Ignashov Vs Gary Turner and Drago Vs Peter Crooke.
Also in 2006, It’s Showtime will return to it’s native country and The Amsterdam Arena on May 13th.
