Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, who was expected to fight Vladimir Matyushenko earlier this month at Affliction: Day of Reckoning before the event's eventual postponement, will instead debut with World Victory Road at the Japanese-based organization's Nov. 1 event.
"Minotoro" will meet veteran European fighter Moise Rimbon.
The bout will likely be the final addition to World Victory Road: Sengoku 6, which takes place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
WVR added the Nogueira - Rimbon bout to the official fight card on Monday.
Nogueira, the twin brother of UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, most recently fought at Affliction's debut show in July. There, the former PRIDE fighter easily defeated UFC veteran Edwin Dewees, who was a late replacement for Vernon White. Nogueira is now 9-2 in his past 11 fights, which has included victories over notables such as Dan Henderson, Alistair Overeem (twice), Kazuhiro Nakamura (twice) and Guy Mezger.
Rimbon, a veteran of the European fight circuit, is a one-time veteran of BodogFIGHT, where he defeated UFC and PRIDE veteran Alex Stiebling in early 2007. Including that second-round TKO victory, the Frenchman is 4-1-1 in his past six fights. In his most recent bout, he scored second-round submission victory over Peter Graham at WVR's World Victory Road: Sengoku 4 event.
