WCFC Director of Operations Paul Cahoon and Cor Hemmers from the Golden Glory team are pleased to announce the proposed fight card for the eagerly awaited “No Guts No Glory”.
Putting this superb line up together has not been all plain sailing especially with the late withdrawals of James Thompson and Jeff Monson due to their injuries suffered in a horrific car accident. But Paul and the WCFC team have pulled out all the stops to deliver a world-class line up of Gladiatorial Warriors which will certainly keep the fight fans on the edge of their seats.
Chris Bacon WCFC Managing Director also added that all the fighters who are unable to fight due to injury have committed to fighting on the subsequent WCFC showcases planned for 2006. He went on to say “This happens in the fight game and we are bitterly disappointed, but on the plus side we have secured an equally strong line up for the MEN event and the press and fans alike are giving the WCFC and the sport of MMA a red hot response as they gear up to witness this entertainment extravaganza”.
There will be 2 under-card fights followed by the 8 man Gladiatorial Combat tournament. In between the last semi-final and the final of the tournament will be the bout all of Liverpool and Manchester want to see, “The Battle of the M62” featuring Ozzy Haluk and Terry Etim. This is the pre-cursor to the 2 super-fights one of which features the rising star of Pride FC Alistair Overeem and the final of the tournament itself. The Warriors involved in the event are planning to train right up to the day before the event to gain every advantage that they can.
