Ross Pearson will fight Abdul Mohamed on October 4th at Cage Gladiators 9: Beatdown at the Olympia in Liverpool.

Ross Pearson is one of the hottest young talents in the UK MMA scene. At just 23 years of age, Pearson is already the current Ultimate Force Lightweight Champion, having defeated the experienced Irishman Aidan Marron in May. Since making his debut in 2003, Pearson has slowly worked his way up the ranks and impressed on the North East circuit winning the Strike and Submit British Lightweight Title and the Total Combat International Lightweight Title by overwhelming his opposition with a mix of powerful ground and pound and some solid submission work.

Pearson's potential saw the North East fighter called-up to Cage Warriors, where he fought at Cage Warriors: Enter The Rough House 5 in December last year, where he defeated the tough Muay Thai fighter Steve Tetley. Due to his performance, Pearson earned rave reviews from the MMA media who saw him for the first time in one of Europe's biggest events. Since then Pearson's career has sky - rocketed and the tough all round fighter is currently on a 6 bout win streak with wins over Aidan Marron, Cedric Celerier and the unorthodox veteran Sami Berik.

Abdul Mohamed is one of the best known and decorated UK based fighters having previously held the Cage Warriors Welterweight Title in 2003-4, and also holds impressive victories over the likes of Jean Silva and wins over UFC veterans Jess Liaudin and Ross Pointon.

This fight has all the makings of a war and with rumours circulating that the winner of this bout is due to sign a big contact on one of the World's elite shows, it will be a great indicator if Pearson is ready to take the next step up.
