Shane Carwin Ready to Bang in Birmingham
Date submitted: 18 August 2008
Author: Mick Bower

Highly tipped Heavyweight Shane Carwin is confident of victory over Neil Wain at UFC 89: Bisping vs Leben at the National Indoor Arena in Brimingham, UK; but he is not expecting an easy night.

He told Fighthype.com:

“He's a tough guy, it's going to be in his backyard and he's an undefeated fighter so I'm not taking him lightly. I want to go in there and get the win. I expect him to come out and try to make a statement being that it's in his backyard and it's his first shot in the UFC. I will have a gameplan coming in that I will stick to and hopefully it works. I'm ready to fight and get in there again. I'm willing to stand and bang with any of these guys, but like I said, we will work on a gameplan for Wain”.

Neil Wain is one of the most explosive fighters in UK Mixed Martial Arts. So far, no one has been able to cope with his dynamic, attacking style. He combines speed and phenomenal power to blow away his opponents. Wain goes by the fight name of “Old School”. This sums up the no nonsense attitude which has made him a crowd favourite at shows in the North of England.

Wain fights out of Team Ultimate Force. He is a stable mate of leading UK Heavy Tengiz Tedoradze and the rising stars Jason Ball, Wayne Murray and Ian "The Mongoose" Jones.

Some observers have questioned Wain’s pedigree, but he has destroyed everyone who has been put in front of him in his career to date.

He has yet to show a ground game in the cage, but his training partners report that his power and compact stature make him virtually impossible to submit.

Neil Wain's style means he is never in a bad fight. The UFC Heavyweight division is probably its weakest and it is short on personalities. Bringing in an all action wrecking machine like Neil Wain will certainly liven things up.
