Carlos Condit Retains WEC Belt

Carlos Condit has been the subject of rumours linking him to a switch to the UFC. After another exciting title defence at World Extreme Cagefighting 35, the speculation is sure to grow.

The WEC Welterweight champ’s latest victim was Hiromitsu Miura. The Japanese challenger was stopped towards the end of the fourth round of a great main event at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Miura pushed Condit to put in one of his best performances yet. The pair traded blows and submission attempts in an energy sapping battle. In the fourth round, Miura took a knee to the head and crumpled to the floor. Condit followed him down and continued to throw strikes. Although the strikes did not appear to have much power behind them - the exhausted Miura could not respond and the referee waved the fight off.

In other title action, Brian Stann lost his Light Heavyweight belt to Steve Cantwell after a second round TKO.
