Nick Diaz Sends Stockton Fans Wild

Nick Diaz knocked out Thomas Denny at Elite Xtreme Combat: Unfinished Business at the Stockton Arena on Saturday night - sending his home town crowd wild.

Stockton resident Diaz trains at Cesar Gracie's camp in the Northern California town. The controversial “Freedom Fighter” divides opinion with his outspoken views on drugs and the fight game in genera but, in Stockton, he was cheered to the rafters.

Before his appearance, the crowd chanted “209” - the area code for Stockton. They were willing Diaz to produce a home win, and he didn’t disappoint. Nick Diaz knocked out Thomas Denny in the second round. Although he is a jiu jitsu black belt, Diaz kept the fight standing and out boxed his opponent.

This victory puts Nick Diaz in line for a shot at Elite XC champion Karl James Noons. Noons won their previous meeting when a cut to the Diaz forehead caused the doctor to stop the fight.
