Stefan Struve and Ronnie Mann Take Cage Gladiators Belts

Stefan "Skyscraper" Struve took the vacant Cage Gladiators world Heavyweight title with a stunning victory over Colin Robinson at Cage Gladiators 8.
Struve submitted the UFC veteran in the first round by way of triangle choke. The tall Dutchman, trained by the legendary Bob Schreiber, dominated the fight throughout and looks set to be a major player on the European Heavyweight scene.
In other title action, Ronnie Mann retained the Featherweight strap with a first round win over Steve McCombe. Mann took the tough Irishman down early on and forced the tap by applying a rear naked choke.
The experienced Greg Loughran ground out an impressive victory over rising star Rob Sinclair. Sinclair just had the edge in a dour clinch and ground battle, but Loughran took his chance in the final round, clinching victory with a Kimura.
Lukasz Les, Cliff Hall and Paul Sass all scored with impressive submission victories.
The Liverpool based promotion has recently signed a deal with the TV network ITV and highlights of Cage Gladiators 8 will be shown on the ITV 4 channel. Cage Gladiators are seen by many as a promotion on the up. They stage their shows at the famous Liverpool Olympia and their cards showcase an impressive list of fighters from the booming North West scene. |
