Joachim Hansen Takes DREAM Lightweight Belt

Joachim Hansen beat Shinya Aoki to take the DREAM Lightweight title at the Dream 5: Lightweight Grand Prix 2008 Final at the Osaka-Jo Hall on Osaka.

A sustained striking attack from Hansen the referee stopped the fight after 4:19 of the first round.

Dutch star Alistair Overeem confirmed his hot streak of form by winning his third fight in a row. His opponent was Mark Hunt.

Hunt had been away from fighting for a year and a half. The New Zealander’s comeback lasted barely more than a minute. After a short stand up exchange - the fight went to the ground. Overeem attempted an armbar. This morphed into a match winning shoulder lock. The official time of the submission was 1:11.

It was Overeem’s second impressive DREAM victory in just over a month. On June 15th , he Ko'd Lee Tae Hyun after just 36 seconds of the first round at the Dream 4: Middleweight Grand Prix 2008 Second Round.
