Mike Swick Dismisses Dan Hardy Rumour

Mike Swick has put an end to the rumour that he would be fighting Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy.

Internet forums have been buzzing with speculation - suggesting that the two would meet on the UFC 89: Bisping vs Leben on 18 October 2008 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, UK.

Swick told MMAJunkie.com:

"That's a false rumour. I haven't heard anything about it. I just had surgery, and I'm not going to be back until probably November or December. I'm not fighting Dan Hardy in England. I'm not even fighting on that card. There's no way I'll be back that soon."

Swick insist he is out of action at the moment after having surgery on his elbow.

"I think [the elbow] is going to recover pretty well, and I should be back in November. I would say November, maybe December."

This means that speculation about the opponent for Dan Hardy's UFC debut will rumble on. Another high profile welterweight who has been mentioned is Josh Koscheck.
