Ken Shamrock: I Will Carry On Fighting

Ken Shamrock has said he intends to continue fighting.

He told MMAJunkie.com:

"I'd like to get in there one more time and do a big one. It'll help promote my gym, promote my business and help other fighters on my elite fighting team get out there and make some big fights. That's why I want to do it again, and I want to go out the way I want to go out.

... This is it, this is my last fight and go do it."

The announcement will sadden many MMA fans. Ken Shamrock is a legend of the sport and was a key figure in building the popularity of MMA. In his last fight, against Robert "Buzz" Berry at Cage Rage 25: Bring It On, “The World's Most Dangerous Man” looked a shadow of his former self as he crashed to a first round KO defeat. Many fans feel that Shamrock, 44, should retire rather than risk injury in the cage.
