Rogerio Nogueira Latest Signing for Affliction

It was announced at a press conference that Affliction have yet again bagged another top free agent in the form of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira the twin brother of UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Formerly signed with Canadian promotion “Hardcore Championship Fighting” with a three fight deal, Rogerio became a free agent after the closure of that event. He only had to fight one of the three bouts which was a TKO victory over Todd Gouwenberg back in February.
Before that fight Nogueira hadn’t participated for about one year in MMA since his shock defeat to Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou who knocked him out in 23 seconds. During this time he has dedicated himself to boxing, winning bronze at the 2007 Pan American Games.
In the past Nogueira has accrued an impressive MMA record mainly in Pride against top competition with wins over Kazushi Sakuraba, Alistair Overeem and a submission win over UFC top contender and former Pride middleweight and light heavyweight champion Dan "Hollywood" Henderson by armbar in the first round.
You can expect to see Antonio Rogerio Nogueira back with some sharp striking skills to add to his very high level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on the under card of Golden Boy Affliction: Banned on July 19. |
