Nick Diaz, who was recently pulled from Sunday's Dream 3: Lightweight Grand Prix 2008 Second Round card over concerns he wouldn't be ready for a June 14 EliteXC event, is back on the card.

Diaz's trainer, Cesar Gracie, told that ProElite CEO Doug DeLuca cleared the fighter for his bout with Katsuya Inoue late Wednesday.

According to the report, Diaz was to spend early Thursday morning cutting weight before jumping on a flight for Sunday's event, which takes place at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

EliteXC officials will keep their fingers crossed that Diaz, who hasn't fought since a November 2007 loss to Karl James Noons for the first-ever EliteXC lightweight title, will be healthy enough to fight Mushin Corbbrey at a June 14 EliteXC event in Hawaii.

News of the fight cancellation originally appeared on GracieFighter.com, the website of Diaz's home at Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Diaz, though signed to a non-exclusive contract, still has to get permission to compete outside EliteXC. The organization traditionally uses a 30-day window, and though Diaz was safe by a few days, EliteXC Live Events President Gary Shaw apparently didn't want to risk losing a high-profile fight.

Diaz was originally scheduled to fight at DREAM 2 on April 29, but the organization delayed the bout - apparently without alerting EliteXC officials - which prompted the cancellation earlier this week.
