More Tickets UFC 85 Go On Sale
Date submitted: 08 May 2008

The Ultimate Fighting Championship have announced that, due to stunning public demand, a limited number of additional tickets have been released for UFC 85: Bedlam at the o2 Arena, London, England, on June 7.

With over 7,000 tickets sold during pre-sale, the original remaining seats to the UFC’s return to the capital city sold out on Monday, over a month before the 13-fight super-card explodes at the o2 Arena.

However, the UFC has worked hard with its production crew and o2 Arena staff to release a limited number of additional seats in the lower price bands to its loyal UK fans.

UFC UK Division President Marshall Zelaznik said: “The support from our UK fans is so passionate that we have set records in four of the largest venues in Great Britain over the last year. However, the demand from our fans to see UFC 85: Bedlam live and in person was such we decided to finalize production plans early to so we could make these seats available.”

Zelaznik added: “We feel that more than any other fight promoter in the world, the UFC goes the extra mile to ensure that every fan who buys a ticket has the best possible view of the action, including the erection of giant screens around the arena. However, we have found a way to release more seats for UFC 85: Bedlam without compromising on our world famous in-arena experience."

One of the reasons UFC 85: Bedlam has been London’s hottest ticket of the summer is the sheer depth and quality of what - at 13 fights in one night - is literally the biggest UFC card in over a decade.

UFC 85: Bedlam will see welterweight legend Matt Hughes collide with red hot contender Thiago Alves, undefeated light heavyweight “Sugar” Rashad Evans matches his world class wrestling skills against the one-punch KO power of James Irvin, heavyweights Brandon Vera and Fabricio Werdum throw down in an elimination bout and England’s own Michael Bisping pits his striking skills against the raw power of Chris Leben in a mouth-watering middleweight match up.

Backed up by the deepest supporting card since the mid-1990s, UFC 85: Bedlam is expected to sell out - for a second time – long before June 7.

The card was originally due to feature Chuck Liddell as the headliner in a mouth-watering battle with Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

Shogun was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a ruptured ACL in his left knee, the same injury he had surgery on to repair last October after his UFC 76: Knockout fight with Forrest Griffin. Liddell was then scheduled to meet Rashad Evans, tearing his right hamstring. With the main event falling apart - the UFC have worked hard to put together a card that will draw the crowds and it looks like they have succeeded. In fact, some people may say that the new card is more appealing than the original line up.

The o2 Arena will be staging a UFC event for the second time. Last year, the Greenwich venue played host to UFC 75: Champion vs Champion.
