Nate Diaz has Unfinished Business

Nathan Diaz is unbeaten since joining the UFC. Before he moves on - he feels he has unfinished business with a previous opponent: Manvel Gamberyian.
The pair battled it out at The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 Finale, before Manny had to retire with a shoulder injury. The fight was the end of a bitter feud between the two, sparked by Manny’s cousin Karo Parisyan on the reality TV show. Now, Nate wants to put an end to any controversy.
Speaking on TAGG Radio - he said:
"I don't like them, (Gamburyan and Parisyan) I don't mean nothing bad to anyone else in the sport. Everybody's just trying to make their money and fight their fights and do their thing, just like I am. But those guys? F*** them. They're cocky, they talk s***, and they want to act tough. But when they're by themselves, they try to say 'What's up,' you know... I'm like, 'We're not friends, dude.'" Nate is convinced he was on the way to victory in the previous fight, even before Manny got injured:
”(Gamburyan) already did everything he was going to do in that first round, I felt better in the second round. I didn't feel like he was doing anything from the top anyway. Pellegrino was doing good from the top. He was trying to pass the guard do his thing. Manny was just trying to sit in the guard the whole time."
A rematch would certainly be popular with fans as both fighters built large following in their time on The Ultimate Fighter. |
