YAMMA Pit Fighting sees Wiuff Champion

The new MMA organisation YAMMA Pit Fighting had it's inaugural event in Yamma Pit Fighting 1, which saw Travis "Diesel" Wiuff victorious.

Yamma Pit Fighting is the latest creation from Robert Meryrowitz (formerly from the UFC), and saw the return of the tournament style bout. As well as the 8-man heavyweight tournament, Yamma Pit Fighting 1 saw two additional "Masters Superfights", in "which brings two legends of MMA together in the YAMMA pit to relive old rivalries or solve unanswered questions, or perhaps even start a brand new feud."

Although originally featuring Gary "Big Daddy" Goodridge and Maurice "Mo" Smith, both had to withdraw before the event. Goodridge was officially KO'd in a bout in Korea, meaning he was denied participation by the NJSAC (New Jersey State Athletic Commision), and Smith pulled out through illness.

Even without these well known heavy-hitters, the event saw many familiar names including the headline "Masters Superfight" between Pat Smith and Eric "Butterbean" Esch.
