Cage Warriors Spice Up Nottingham Card

Cage Warriors have juggled the card for their Cage Warriors: Enter the Rough House 6 show.

Cage Warrior fans who were unhappy over the recent Cage Warriors USA: Battle Royale, where two of the four UK vs USA scheduled bouts were cancelled on the night will be pleased to learn that at least one of the missing fights is back on. Warrior Promotions have at their own expense organised for the controversial Dan Hardy vs Chad Reiner bout to be staged at the upcoming Cage Warriors: Enter the Rough House 6 in Nottingham UK on April 19th

Hardy was already scheduled to fight and face Mattias Awad at the event - Awad has kindly agreed to change at the last moment and he will now fight ‘Judo' Jim Wallhead, another Rough House veteran & Warrior Promotions fighter.

Andy Lillis, Fight Director of Cage Warriors comments ‘ this was probably the easisest match to make given how much these two fighters want to get in the cage together - all we had to do was pay! Thanks also to Mattias Awad who graciously swapped opponents so late in the card and we hope everyone attending and viewing the event gets treated to a great night of MMA action'.

Hardy & Reiner were sorely disappointed on the night of March 29th when the final two bouts of the evening were cancelled due to insufficient insurance cover.

It will be confirmed later whether this fight will be an official title bout for the vacant Cage Warriors Fighting Championship Welterweight Belt when asked if it would be for a title, Hardy, already Light Welterweight Champion quipped:

"I hope so, then I can have two, one for each shoulder."

Jim Wallhead also returns to Nottingham, just 3 weeks after suffering a decision loss at Cage Warriors USA: Battle Royale against the Floridian Charles Blanchard from the American Top Team. Despite having a strong first round Wallhead was unable to capitalise and felt disappointed at his performance. As a result he immediately contacted the CWFC matchmaking team for a chance to fight on the April 19th show and seek redemption.

Despite the loss on his US debut; Wallhead is an accomplished MMA fighter who has held two British Titles. Known for his takedowns, ground and pound and improving striking; Wallhead has rightfully found his way into the top 10 European rankings and with wins over UFC veterans Jason Tan and Steve Lynch, he will look to get get back to winning ways when he enters the Harvey Hadden Centre on April 19th.

However facing Wallhead is one of Europe's best Welterweight talents and a fighter that Cage Warriors have looked to bring to their promotion for some time. As Mattias Awad flies in from Sweden looking to make a successful debut inside the CWFC cage, after visiting Cage Warriors previously as a cornerman in 2005.

The card also features the Lightweight clash between Andre Winner and Bendy Casimir. This has all the makings of a very exciting fight between two Top 10 ranked European light weights. This will be a classic striker/grappler clash. Will Andre be able to put a stop to Bendy Casimir's 7 fight winning streak? Or will Bendy show why he is one of Europe's most underrated fighters by defeating the FX3 Lightweight Champion on April 19th.
