John Lewis Joins Ultimate Warrior Challenge

The American promotion, Ultimate Warrior Challenge, have appointed one of the pioneers of MMA to head their organisation.

John Lewis, will take on the role of President and Partner of Ultimate Warrior Challenge (UWC). Ultimate Warrior Sports Development, LLC CEO S. Marcello Foran said:

“I am very pleased to have John as President of the UWC; he is a great person and friend. Combining John’s extensive knowledge and experience in the MMA world with my background in innovative marketing and event creation, we fully intend to play a major role in this great sport,” said Foran, who also heads Florida-based Ultimate VIP International.

“I have a great deal of respect for Marcello and am very impressed with his organization. I look forward to helping take the UWC to the next level,” said Lewis who will remain based in Las Vegas. “This great opportunity comes at a perfect time as the sport continues its tremendous growth and maturity into a mainstream phenomenon.”

Lewis is best known for his early involvement with the revolution and evolution of MMA, helping grow the sport from its early underground infancy to its current mainstream dominance. He was the first fighter to dominate a Gracie (breaking the myth) as a UFC/MMA fighter and is also a highly-regarded trainer and coach having worked the corners of the sport’s true legends such as Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, and Randy Couture, among others. After exiting as a partner from the World Fighting Alliance (WFA), which was eventually purchased by the UFC, he successfully entered into the marketing and night club promotions business. He remains a trusted friend to many of the top fighters in the world and genuinely cares about the overall growth of MMA.
