More Bouts Confirmed for UFC 84: Ill Will

The UFC confirmed 3 more bouts for the upcoming UFC 84: Ill Will event on May 24 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

UFC 84: Ill Will features "The Prodigy" BJ Penn taking on Sean "Muscle Shark" Sherk for the UFC lightweight championship of the world in a 5 round war. Also on the card will be Wanderlei Silva battling Keith Jardine and Tito Ortiz squaring off against Lyoto Machida.

The first new match added to the fight card is Wilson Gouveia taking on UFC newcomer Goran Reljic. Reljic is currently undefeated as a pro with 5 of his 8 wins coming by way of submission. He trains in England under Roger Gracie and sometime travels to Croatia to train there as well. He is an extremely talented grappler with heavy strikes and a wicked armbar. He has been compared in the gym to fellow Croatian, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.

Goran will definitely have his hands full with American Top Team fighter, Wilson Gouveia. Gouveia sports an impressive record of 10-4 with 4 straight wins in the UFC after his initial debut loss to "The Dean of Mean" at the Ultimate Fighter 3 Finale. He holds victories over some impressive competition including welterweight sensation, Jon Fitch, who is 8-0 in the UFC. This should be a big test for Reljic to see if he is ready for the big leagues.

Another match up added to the card is Thiago Silva squaring off against the "Samuray" Antonio Mendes. Like Goran, Mendes will be making his UFC debut as well. Mendes is a Brazilian Thai boxer and Vale Tudo expert with a record that rivals that of Silva’s. At 14-2, fifty percent of Antonio’s wins have come by way of KO or TKO, needless to say he has some pretty heavy hands. He also has submissions in his arsenal so he is a very well rounded fighter.

Thiago Silva is an absolute animal with 10 of his 12 fights ending with a KO or TKO. He is on a three fight win streak in the UFC defeating another monster, Houston Alexander, in his last fight at UFC 78: Validation. Alexander was rolling through people until he ran into a brick wall that is Thiago Silva. Thiago trains out of American Top Team and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With only 4 of his fights making it to the second round, look for this fight be over in a flash.

Last but not least, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou is up against Japanese fighter, Kazuhiro Nakamura in the light heavyweight division. Sokoudjou is coming off of a tough loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 79: Nemesis where he was heavily favored to win. "The African Assassin" is now 4-2 and is looking to rebound with an important victory over Nakamura.

Kazuhiro Nakamura is a judo expert with a record of 11-7. He made his UFC debut back at UFC 76: Knockout where he was also defeated by Lyoto Machida. All of his fights excluding his last UFC bout have been in the former Pride FC organization. He has fought the best of the best including Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio Rua. He has some big victories over Yuki Kondo, Igor Vovchanchyn and Kevin Randleman. He fights out of the Yoshida Dojo in Japan.
