There are strong rumours that Fabricio Werdum will face Brandon Vera at UFC 85 in June at the O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.

The Fight Network report that the fight is likely, but fight agreements are yet to be signed.

Fabricio Werdum has already featured on two of the UFC’s trips across the Atlantic. He lost out to Andrei Arlovski in a dull match at UFC 70: Nations Collide - held at the Manchester Evening News Arena. Werdum bounced back with an impressive win over Gabriel Gonzaga in Newcastle at UFC 80: Rapid Fire.

Brandon Vera lost his unbeaten record in his last fight at UFC 77: Hostile Territory. He lost a unanimous decision to Tim Sylvia.

If the fight happens - the winner will surely be fighting for the Heavyweight title in their next contest. The UFC will be hoping for a classic to ignite interest in the promotion’s least exciting division.
