World Victory Road Announce Takanori Gomi Fight

The new World Victory Road have added another big name fight to their World Victory Road: Sengoku event at the Yoyogi First National Gymnasium in Tokyo on March 5th 2008. According to an MMAWeekly report, Takanori Gomi will fight Duane "Bang" Ludwig.

Takanori Gomi is still regarded by many as the world’s number one lightweight. He made his name with the Pride organisation. Gomi has been out of action for a year since his controversial fight with Nick Diaz at Pride 33: The Second Coming. Diaz defeated Gomi by way of gogoplata. The result was later overturned when Diaz tested positive for THC (the main psychoactive substance found in cannabis). Officials from the Nevada State Athletic Commission stated that the levels were so high, Diaz may actually have been stoned during the fight.

Duane Ludwig is a Muay Thai specialist. His exciting striking has made him a favourite with crowds in America and Japan.
