Injury Ruins Belcher vs Cote

A match that looked to be done for the sell out in Montreal, Canada in April has been scrapped due to injury and has been replaced for UFC 83: Serra vs St Pierre 2.
Patrick Cote coming off his impressive dismantling of Andrew McFedries at UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 12 in January looked set to make a quick return to the octagon in his native Canada by taking on another up and comer in the division, one who was prone to injury Alan Belcher. This was heavily indicated at by UFC President Dana White at a press conference, as Cote has reportedly suffered a hand injury. Belcher has been given an alternative in Jason Day who has a winning streak of 4 and his last victory comes from UFC Veteran David Loiseau in the Calgary based promotion Harcore Championship Fighting via a split decision. Belcher will look to continue his march to the top or even the title, as he is coming off a stoppage victory over TUF fighter Kalib Starnes, who is also on the card as he battles one time title fighter Nate Quarry where he was knocked out and has ever since been a highlight reel KO as it was done in devastating fashion by Rich Franklin at UFC 56: Full Force. |
