YAMMA Pit Fighting Sign First Fight

New kid on the block, in regards to MMA promotions is YAMMA Pit Fighting and the founder being the UFC creator Bob Meyrowitz, has booked his first fight for the promotion, that is set to take place on the 11th April in Atlantic City.
Frye has confirmed the fight via TAGG radio by stating: "I hope (YAMMA) made the announcement because I just signed to fight Oleg Taktarov," Frye said. The bout will headline the event which will work along the 8-man tournament also scheduled in the heavyweight division in a changed way to other events being the New Jersey Commission have sanctioned the tournament which will hold shorter rounds and medical check ups between the rounds for health protection for the fighters.
It looks like YAMMA don't intend on wasting any time and are getting straight into the mix with their event which will go ahead in April show. Frye comes to the event as a veteran in MMA, being that he holds the title for being the winner of the UFC 8: David vs Goliath tournament that used to be part of the UFC back in the 90's, apart from that Frye has also competed in Pride, K-1 and King of the Cage.
Taktarov has a background in Russian Sambo and Judo styles and came on to the scene in UFC 5 & 6 and his last showing was for BodogFight where he gained a victory over John Marsh. |
