Golden Glory to Open UK Gym

The legendary Team Golden Glory is close to opening a gym in the United Kingdom. The facility will be in St Helens, Merseyside.

The gym is in the final stages of building will open in approximately two weeks. Well known fighters such as Ramon Dekker, Semmy Schilt and Alistair Overeem will be coming over from Holland for the opening night.

The gym is equipped with a boxing ring, cage, over 15 golden glory bags, pads, gloves, protective equipment, full size Olympic wrestling matted area, huge upstairs cardio area with brand new life fitness equipment, huge resistance area of over 30 resistance machines of brand new life fitness signature resistance machines, huge free weights and barbell area with over 10 incline/decline benches, plyometric area, circuit area, speed balls, matted walls, reception and lounge area, male and female changing rooms and showers, plunge pool, etc.

The gym will be a full time gym with monthly memberships available or alternatively pay as you go. Members can pay to train in any of the daily classes like Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, freestyle and Mixed Martial Arts or members can come and do their own workouts in the fitness centre section of the gym. There will be a full time shop at the reception selling top quality golden glory Muay Thai and MMA equipment needed. There will be fully qualified fitness instructors and personal trainers to hand in the gym along with Golden Glory Holland fighters coming over regularly to teach, top Thai coaches and fighters from Thailand, Russian wrestling coaches, Brazilian jiu jitsu coaches etc. The gym is fully equipped with everything you need and targeting a wide range of clientele from potential fighters, to beginners, to regular gym users looking to train at the best facilities for realistic prices. Team Golden Glory is a professionally managed team of over 30 of the world's top full-contact fighters from many countries around the world. Our fighters participate in all of the major tournaments held in Japan, Europe, South America, Russia and other locations. Their roster of fighters include Ramon Dekker, Semmy Schilt, Alistair Overeem and England’s Paul Cahoon.

The location of the gym is interesting. St Helens is only a short drive away from Widnes- the home of the Wolfslair. The two towns have a long history of rivalry in Rugby League. Now they could be battling out for supremacy in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

Golden Glory will be hoping to groom more UK talent like Paul Cahoon. Cahoon propelled himself into the forefront of UK Mixed Martial Arts with a spectacular KO of Elvis Sinosic at Cage Rage 24: Feel the Pain. By taking out a high profile opponent, live on Sky TV, Cahoon made a statement that he is ready for anything. His outrageous cage top celebration also increased his value to marketing men.

Golden Glory highest profile fighter in world terms is Semmy Schilt. The karate practitioner is the current three time consecutive K-1 World GP champion. He is the first fighter in K-1 history to win the championship three times in a row.
