Question?

Is Frank Mir back in the frame to be considered a contender after disposing of the newest edition to the heavyweight saga?

Well the only real argument against that would be how bad his conditioning was when he suffered a loss to Brandon Vera which seemed to infuriate Dana White because he wasn't in shape for the fight and was toyed with until being stopped.

Saturday comes along and Mir States he's in the best shape of his career and isn't anxious in the slightiest eventhough admitting he had been in past contests.

The fight goes the way Brock Lesnar predicts take him down and pound on him.

The giant that is Lesnar took down Mir at ease within the opening seconds and proceeded to throw down on Mir with big over hand rights, Before Steve Mazagatti stepped into deduct a point from Lesnar for strikes to the back of the head.

The fight resumed back on the feet wth Lesnar taking back to the ground after landing a right hand and then continued where he left off delivering more strikes on top and having Mir look for armbar attempts to stop Lesnar, but failing in his attempts due to the size of Lesnar he resorted to the legs and slapped on a kneebar in which lesnar tapped out too ending the contest in a minute and a half.

So with Mir looking like a valid contender in the divsion where does he go next, possible rematch with Tim Sylvia for breaking his forearm back in the day or an up & comer like Eddie Sanchez despite losing to Mirko Filipovic the Hispanic fighter has looked impressive since then or Gabriel Gonzaga looks the most compatible with both having recognised floor games & Gonzaga edging out Mir in the stand up this could be the possible match up that sees Mir back in the title fray.
