Nick "The Goat" Thompson Defends Bodog Fight Belt

Bodog Fight welterweight champion Nick "The Goat" Thompson says he's ready to defend his welterweight title against undefeated challenger John Troyer.
"I'm just coming off the best training camp I've ever had," Thompson says. "My muay thai feels sharp. My jiu jitsu feels good. My wrestling feels good. It's the best I've ever been so I'm excited."
Thompson and Troyer will clash on Feb. 1 at the Las Vegas Sport Center for Bodog Fight: Nick Thompson vs John Troyer.
What does "The Goat" think of his opponent?
"I've watched video on him," Thompson explains. "He's tough, but he hasn't really fought anybody so he could be a real tough guy, or he could just look good because he really hasn't fought anybody. It's hard to tell."
Although Troyer has only 8-fights under his belt, Thompson says he expects a war on Friday night.
"If you can expect one thing from a guy that is 8-0 is that they're going to come out hard," he says. "There's not going to be a feeling out period. I'm expecting him to come at me with everything he has and we'll find out how good he is."
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with fights starting at 7:30 p.m.
