Arlovski Added to UFC 82 Card

After almost a year on the bench, Andrei Arlovski will return to action at UFC 82. The former Heavyweight champion will be up against the undefeated Jake O'Brien.
MMAJunkie.com report that bout agreements have been signed for the fight. Arlovski has not entered the Octagon since UFC 70: Nations Collide, when he took on Fabricio Werdum. Arlovski won the fight on a judges decision. That contest was looked on by many as an unofficial title eliminator, but it’s lack of action did nether of the participants any good. Later that night, Gabriel Gonzaga head kicked his way to the front of the line with his stunning KO of Mirko Filipovic.
This could well be Arlovski’s final fight for the UFC. He only has one fight left on his current contract. With Randy Couture and Fedor Emelianenko elsewhere - the UFC top division is in a sorry state. Arlovski may find that there are richer pickings and bigger fights with other organisations. He would seem to be an obvious target for the Russian based M 1 promotion, which would give him the chance of taking on pound for pound king Fedor. |
