Former UFC Champ Steve Jennum in Street Attack

When three youngsters went out to commit a robbery earlier this week, they probably didn’t want to take on a former UFC champion.
Steve Jennum was attacked in a parking lot in Omaha, Nebraska in Tuesday morning report wowt.com. This was a bad decision on the part of the robbers as Jennum is a police officer and the champion of UFC 3: The American Dream. Omaha Police Sgt. Teresa Negron told wowt.com:
"He was able to prevent the suspect from striking him from behind with the bottle and struggled with the victims, obviously his training added to what he was able to do."
Jennum struggled with one of the suspects until another pulled a knife. Jennum says he backed off and the suspects fled. He reported the matter to the police, then assisted in the search for his attackers. A twenty year old and two eighteen year olds have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Steve Jennum was the first man other than Royce Gracie to win a UFC championship. He only had one fight at UFC 3: The American Dream, as he was an alternate. Jennum came in at the final stage to defeat Harold Howard and take the title. |
