Belfort & Ortiz Rematch Possible

The Phenom that is Vitor Belfort who has been fighting for the light heavy weight division with wins over James Zikic & Ivan Serati in Cage Rage has plans with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva this Wednesday about a possible return to the octagon.

He has been absent from the UFC for the last 3 years and wants to get to grips with massive talent in the UFC with the like of Forrest Griffin, Keith Jardine, Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson, Michael Bisping, Rashad Evans and also facing old enemies in the shape of Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz and his most noticeable KO of fellow Brazilian Wanderlei Silva back at UFC: Ultimate Brazil in 44seconds when he delivered one of the most deadly flurries of punches which packed power, speed and accuracy which dismantled Silva and still to this day is on highlight reels for the Sport.

With Tito Ortiz getting back to the action after his participation in the Apprentice series, it is possible that Belfort will be given the chance to avenge his loss to Ortiz from February 2005 where he lost a split decision, but is motivated to get back in the octagon with Ortiz as last time Belfort struggled with a back problem.

Belfort is still a hot asset in MMA and has offers from M-1 as well as elite XC, but the Belfort is content with returning to the UFC empire after his treatment from Cage Rage which he was disappointed about how he was treated with regards to the professionalism of the British based company and is the main reason why he looks to rekindle his UFC career.

Belfort has not ruled out a return to the Middleweight division which would be ideal for the UFC as it is not overflowing with stars in the division that is causing the UFC problems, especially with Anderson Silva demolishing every fighter who is placed across for Belfort’s close buddy.
