Former Middleweight Champion Rich "Ace" Franklin is considering a return to the octagon on the UFC 82 card which will see his nemesis Anderson "The Spider" Silva meeting Dan Henderson for the title in his hometown yet again in Columbus, Ohio.

The challenger for Franklin that has been offered by UFC matchmaker Joe Silva is the Season 4 winner Travis Lutter who was also defeated by the dominating champion after his comeback in the reality series, although the title match was scrapped due to Lutter not making the weight at UFC 67: All or Nothing.

This would seem a step backwards for Franklin as he seems to be a class above the other 185lbs fighters but can’t catch a break against Silva who has defeated him twice in devilish fashion and if he takes this and loses then it could be a long wait to get back in the No 1 contender bracket, but time might not be a factor as Franklin has just signed a new contract which will see him in the UFC for while.
