UFC to Hold Event in Madison Square Garden

The Ultimate Fighting Championship are holding an event at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden in New York City. Fans will have the chance to watch UFC 79: Nemesis on big screens at the legendary Garden.

The event will be hosted by UFC Welterweight champion Matt Serra. Serra was due to fight his arch rival Matt Hughes on the card but had to pull out through injury. His place was filled by former champion Georges St Pierre.

The New York event, on 29 December 2007, will begin at 8.30 pm when Matt Serra will take questions from the audience. No doubt the popular New Yorker will have plenty to say about Matt Hughes, although much of it may not be suitable for a family audience. Following the Q and A session, UFC 79: Nemesis will be shown live from Las Vegas on the big screens.

UFC 79: Nemesis also features the long awaited clash between Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva.
