Frank Mir's huge UFC come-back was marred by a bloody first Round TKO at the hands of Brazilian Marcio Cruz. Here we have Frank's own post fight thoughts which were posted in his on-line journal.

"I wanted to get this out to say thanks to all of you for your support. Once again, it means alot. I trained hard for this fight. My team had me in excellent shape and prepared.  We felt like we were ready for the fight. When you step into the Octagon it then is incumbent upon the fighter to step up and take the training that he has endured and the time that he and his team had invested and put it all together and win. Unfortunately, last night I fought and didn't win. Marcio Cruz fought well and should be respected for his performance.

I will take this loss as a learning experience and come back stronger. You shall see. I have excellent sponsors that are supportive and I have the will and determination to once again be the best fighter in the world. In this sport anything can happen and last night was not my night and I am so determined to perform at the level that I am capable of. I will be taking a few days of rest and will be getting back to training in just a few days. I will continue to keep in touch and I wanted to thank you once again for all your support. I get every email and I go through all of it."
