Babalu is Back

The poster says it all: “Babalu is Back”. Renato "Babalu" Sobral is set to fight Vernon "Tiger" White for the World Cagefighting Organisation Light Heavyweight title.
RingsideJunkie.com say they have inked a PPV deal with MMA Promoter Bruce Bellocchi’s Xcess Fighting to cover the event.
RingsideJunkie.com report the name of the event is Xcess Fighting: The Return, due to the return of Renato "Babalu" Sobral after his controversial stoppage win at UFC 74: Respect. The event will take place at January 12, 2008 7:00PM at the San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, California. The fight card will also feature Mark Kerr, Joe "Diesel" Riggs, David "The Crow" Loiseau and Drew Fickett.
Renato "Babalu" Sobral was released from his contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship after beating David Heath at UFC 74: Respect. Sobral submitted Heath by way of Anaconda Choke in the second round of their contest. Babalu found himself in trouble because he deliberately continued to choke Heath after he had submitted. |
